Crimes In Time Journal
Vol. I Crimes in Times Journal contains the stories of the three major cases that made the lawyers famous enough to be involved in the Billings Murder trial told in To Spend Eternity Alone. There is the story of the robbery of a bank in Waterford, in which the thieves stole $443,000 (in 1871 - $40,000,000 today). The magnitude and audacity of the crime is only exceeded by the tale of what happens after. There is also the story of a mass murder in Cambridge where five women from one family tragically died. It was called the most horrendous crime in the annals of the county. The other story is that of the murder of a one-armed man in Albany. No one knew the man and he was buried before he was identified. The lawyers involved in these cases earned recognition as some of the most outstanding trial lawyers of their day. |

Excerpt The twin daughters, Sarah and Mary, were awoken just like their mother and the maid. Each girl reported her fear at opening her eyes and looking down the barrel of a pistol. Like the other members of the family, the girls were bound with tarred rope. Sarah, who would prove to be a feisty demon, at first struggled with her captors. Despite her valiant efforts, Sarah soon realized her strength was no match for her assailants. Reviews "Theres bends and turns and lots of fun." The Post-Star "Oh what times they were back then." Channel 6 Cover Story Dr. Hollis Palmer This is the first book of Victorian True crimes by Hollis Palmer. In this book Palmer became a storyteller, whose tales would be historical crimes. Somehow able to find the bizarre, twisted and formerly uncovered crimes, Palmer has made his mark by discovering tales that were lost to history and reminding us of the impact they had on their communities.
